NURGE sizes: Which FRAME to buy if you have a Nurge hoop
Frames specifically sized for Nurge hoops.
Nurge hoops are HIGH quality, no doubt, and are increasingly the choice of both the casual stitchers and embroidery artists given their smooth edges, light weight, and hardware that tightens with a screwdriver. Nurge has their own sizing system and they don’t quite correspond to the common hoop and frame sizes.
I often recommend downgrading your hoop to a plain wooden or bamboo hoop if you plan to cover it up with a frame. But not everyone wants to do that if they’ve already finished off the back.
Listed below are frames sized specifically for your NURGE hoops. All other frame details (shape or finish options) are the same.
No. 1 is 4 3/8” across
No. 2 is 5 1/2” across.
No. 3 is 6 3/4” across.
No. 4 is (a hair shy of) 8” across.
Note: The beefy 16mm and 24mm thick Nurge frames are too thick to fit in the recess on the back of these frames. You’ll need to use the 8mm (5/16”) thinner size.
