Hoops come in a wide variety of sizes. Some manufacturers measure the fabric diameter, some the outer wood hoop. Add in the confusion from Metric vs. Imperial and translating between the two systems, multiple languages, and global manufacturers… and we’ve got a mess.

To get the best fit for your frame, start by measuring the diameter of your hoop, preferably with the fabric in it.

Measure the diameter of your hoop, the distance across at the widest point, from the OUTSIDE edge to the opposite OUTSIDE edge of the outer hoop. Write down that diameter to the nearest 1/8".

Here’s a handy printable guide to measure and track your hoop dimensions.
